PART 1: DECODING YOUR WARDROBE MATERIALS

Understanding the fabric is the first step to avoiding laundry disasters.

1. "Heavy Cotton" & Classic Fits

Applies to: T-Shirts, Tank Tops, Long Sleeves (Gildan 5000, 5400, 5200)

  • The Vibe: Heavy Cotton features a thicker weave and a structured, boxy fit, delivering that classic, rugged streetwear look.

  • The Fabric: 100% Cotton. It absorbs sweat perfectly but has natural shrinkage when exposed to high heat.

PART 2: THE "EXPERT" WASHING ROUTINE

The Golden Rule for printed apparel: "Cool - Gentle - Inside Out"

  1. Turn It Inside Out: This is the most crucial step! Always turn the garment inside out to prevent the print from rubbing against the drum, zippers, or buttons of other clothes.

  2. Keep It Cool: Wash with cold water only (below 30°C/86°F). Hot water is the enemy—it shrinks cotton and can cause the ink to crack or peel.

  3. Choose the Right Cycle:

    • Standard Tees: Normal cycle.

    • V-Necks & Premium fabrics: Use a mesh laundry bag and select the "Delicate/Gentle" cycle.

  4. No Harsh Chemicals: Never pour bleach directly onto the print. Go easy on the fabric softener for Sweaters, as too much can mat down the soft fleece lining.

PART 3: STORAGE & MAINTENANCE SECRETS

Washing is only 50% of the battle; how you dry and store your clothes is the other 50%.

1. Drying Done Right

  • T-Shirts & Tank Tops: Air dry in a shaded, well-ventilated area. Avoid direct sunlight, as UV rays can fade the ink colors over time.

  • Sweaters & Long Sleeves: Wet heavy fabrics are heavy! Do not hang them while soaking wet. The weight of the water will stretch the fabric and ruin the fit. Gently squeeze (don't wring) and lay them flat to dry.

  • V-Necks: When hanging to dry, give the collar a gentle shake to flatten it. Never insert the hanger through the neck hole from the top; always feed it up from the bottom to prevent stretching out that delicate V-shape.

2. To Hang or To Fold?

  • FOLD: Best for Sweaters and Long Sleeves. Hanging heavy knits for long periods causes "shoulder bumps" (those weird points on the shoulders) and stretches the garment.

  • HANG: Best for T-shirts, V-necks, and Tanks. Use hangers with the right shoulder width. Wood or thick plastic hangers are best; avoid thin wire hangers that distort the shoulder shape.

3. Ironing

  • Never iron directly on the print. The heat will melt the ink instantly.

  • If you must iron, turn the shirt inside out or place a thin cloth/parchment paper over the design before ironing.

4. Dealing with Pilling (For Sweaters)

After prolonged use, fleece may develop small fuzzballs (pills) in high-friction areas like the underarms. Don't pull them off! Use a fabric shaver or a clean razor to gently glide over the surface, and your sweater will look smooth and new again.
